The Fraser Institute: New Report Measuring Expansion of Low-Income Tax Credits in Canada and U.S. Coming Tuesday, March 19

ID: 240287

(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/18/13 -- The Fraser Institute will release a new report examining the economic consequences of extending low-income tax benefits to middle earners on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 a.m. (Eastern).

"The explosion in eligibility for federal tax credits in the U.S., particularly the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit, has increasingly sheltered middle-income families from contributing even nominally to society's overall tax bill," said Jason Clemens, Fraser Institute executive vice-president and co-author of Tax Payers and Tax Takers.

"This is a warning for Canada, which implemented two similar tax credit programs and has already expanded both of them."

A news release with additional information will be issued via Marketwire at 6:30 a.m. (Eastern) on Tuesday, March 19.

The full report will also be available as a free PDF download at .
