Procima Experts Awards its First Leadership in Business Intelligence Scholarship to a Student From Universite de Sherbrooke
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 03/19/13 -- a Montreal-based consulting and data management firm, in collaboration with the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, has recently presented its first Excellence Scholarship to a Universite de Sherbrooke master student in Business Intelligence. On March 14th, before 150 students attending the ceremony held at the Centre culturel of the University, Mr. Marc-Eric Larocque, Procima Experts' General Manager and President of the Salon BI 2013, was proud to award the 4 500$-scholarship to Mr. David Levesque Lafleur, who was also invited to take part in a special internship at Procima Experts.
Business intelligence has become mandatory in today's organizations. This is why Procima Experts and the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec want to acknowledge the importance of ensuring the training of a specialized, skilled and qualified workforce, as well as acknowledge the aspect required in this state-of-the-art field of activity. "We really hope to encourage academic excellence as well as the strong leadership spirit that is required to excel in this area of expertise" declared Marc-Eric Larocque of Procima Experts. "We have established this annual Excellence Scholarship with this viewpoint in mind. Of course, we also wanted to make a significant contribution to the training of a high-quality new generation of specialists," he added. The funds gathered to create this scholarship were generated by organizing a special training focused on the application of the agile framework to business intelligence projects. All the surpluses resulting from this training were allocated to a fund reserved for this scholarship, which will be awarded once a year, at the winter session, from 2013 to 2015.

An evaluation committee was then formed from the teams of Procima Experts, Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, and Faculte d'administration, programme de la Maitrise en intelligence d'affaires of Universite de Sherbrooke. Among them, the Co-Director of research in business intelligence, and Associate Professor at the Universite de Sherbrooke, Mrs. Manon G. Guillemette, who has selected this year's scholarship candidate. David Levesque-Lafleur has proven hands down that his leadership spirit for the profession, as well as his remarkable academic achievements, will undoubtedly open many doors to him, leading to a highly-promising future. There is no doubt that this scholarship will allow him to pursue his current momentum, representing more than just an amount of money but a strong acknowledgement and sound support from the business community that will certainly help to maintain his motivation and efforts.
