(TSX: CLC) (the "Company" or "CML") is proud to announce that the Company's pre-analytical department at its central laboratory is the 2013 winner of the BD-sponsored, Clinical Laboratory Management Association's ("CLMA") Pre-analytical Excellence Award.
The award recognizes laboratory professionals within leading health care organizations that are committed to client safety and quality improvements in the pre-analytical phase of clinical laboratory testing. Recipients must demonstrate leadership, best practices, innovation, and measurable and sustainable pre-analytical improvements. In 2012, CML implemented several process re-engineering initiatives that streamlined specimen flow while optimizing footprint and manpower. The result of these undertakings was improved efficiency and quality, and reduced results turnaround times.
