Canadians Now Able to Pay Income Tax With A Credit Card
Plastiq Challenges the Status Quo in the Online Payment Category
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/26/13 -- Plastiq Inc., the online payment platform, announced today that Canadians can now charge their personal income tax to the credit card of their choice. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has recognized Plastiq as a means to use a credit card for payments.
"Many Canadians are very savvy with their credit card use, balancing a number of preferred cards to ensure their rewards are maximized," said Eliot Buchanan, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Plastiq. "With Plastiq, a credit card is now a viable option to pay personal income tax, providing consumers with new choices and flexibility to strategically manage payments while capitalizing on the rewards offered by their credit card provider."
Plastiq currently works with merchants across North America, representing the education sector, boating and automobile industries as well as real estate and rental markets. To ensure consumers are provided with a variety of payment choices, Plastiq has developed partnerships with leading financial institutions including MasterCard Worldwide and American Express.
With Plastiq, consumers and merchants are able to transact from anywhere in the world at any time from any internet-enabled device. For a fee of two per cent per transaction, Plastiq allows Canadians to make large payments via their American Express, MasterCard, or Visa card to merchants who would previously accept only cash or debit.
"The Plastiq proprietary platform ensures transaction security, privacy, and an exceptional customer experience," adds Daniel Choi, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, Plastiq.
