The lawsuit at issue was filed in the District Court of Clark County, Nevada. It was assigned to Department Number XIX and it was given a case number of A-12-661708-C. The case was filed on behalf of an individual male plaintiff and it was filed against Sunrise Mountainview Hospital among other medical entities. The basic claim that was made with the lawsuit was that the plaintiff was neglected to the point where he suffered serious injuries.
According to the court documents associated with the case, the plaintiff was living in the defendant facility and was paying for his ongoing care. During the course of that care, the plaintiff developed what the documents described as a severe bed sore in the buttocks area. This bed sore was allegedly developed because the staff at the facility did not provide a proper level of oversight and allegedly because the staff did not move the plaintiff often enough in order to avoid the development of this injury.
The court documents went on to state that because of the severity of the bed sore that developed, the plaintiff had to undergo extensive medical treatments that were intended to minimize the damage that the bed sore had done. The documents further stated that these treatments caused the plaintiff a great deal of pain and suffering and that they will not provide a fast and full cure for the condition that was inflicted.
As a result of this occurrence, the Las Vegas injury lawyers at Bernstein & Poisson filed this lawsuit on behalf of their injured client. The lawsuit seeks damages that would help to compensate the plaintiff for the medical costs he has incurred and for those that he will incur in the future.
