Ordina chosen as preferred IT services provider for Centrum Indicatiestelling Zorg

The Dutch healthcare assessment body Centrum Indicatiestelling Zorg (CIZ) has
selected Ordina as one of its preferred suppliers for IT services, following a
European tender procedure. The framework agreement is valid for at least three
years and for a maximum of four years. The framework agreement gives CIZ access
to Ordina's specialists in the field of Business Intelligence, IT architecture
and security on an outplacement or project basis. The contract is a yet another
boost to Ordina's growing position in the public sector and healthcare market.
The CIZ assesses whether people are entitled to care under the AWBZ act on
extraordinary healthcare costs. The CIZ also assesses how much care someone
needs and how long they will be entitled to that care. The services the CIZ
provides are changing. In the future, the CIZ's services will focus increasingly
on the AWBZ assessment activities. The CIZ also faces the challenge of improving
its services in the face of budget cuts and contributing to the smooth
transition of AWBZ-related care to local authorities and healthcare insurers.

ABOUT THE CIZ
The CIZ assesses whether people are entitled to care under the AWBZ act on
extraordinary healthcare costs. These assessments are made on the basis of
objective criteria, which ensures that assessments are the same across the
country. The assessments are made on the basis of policy directives drawn up by
the Dutch Health, Welfare and Sports Ministry. The CIZ assesses whether AWBZ
care is indicated. If it is, the CIZ then make a diagnosis to assess how much
care is indicated and how long this care should be provided. A care facility
subsequently arranges the care that needs to be provided. The CIZ was founded in
2005. The organisation has around 1,500 employees and has offices across the
country.
