Appointment of Ms. Claudie Haignere to the Board of Directors of ONE DROP France
(firmenpresse) - PARIS, FRANCE -- (Marketwired) -- 04/05/13 -- Mr. Laurent Dassault, Managing Director of the Dassault Group and Chair of the Board of Directors of ONE DROP France, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Claudie Haignere as an administrator to the Board of Directors of ONE DROP France.
Ms. Haignere has led an impressive and exceptional career to date. As President of the establishment of the Palais de la decouverte and the Cite des sciences since 2009, she has worked successfully to make science accessible to all through innovative exhibitions seeking to foster a love of science.
Previously, Ms. Haignere was an inspiring figure on France's political scene, becoming minister delegate for Research and New Technologies in 2002, and minister delegate for European Affairs in 2004. Before taking on politics, Ms. Haignere was France's first female astronaut, completing a flight aboard the Mir space station as part of the Agence Francaise de l'Espace mission in 1996, and in 2001 as first spaceflight engineer on the International Space Station in a mission entrusted by the European Space Agency. From 1990 to 1992, Ms. Haignere was involved in leading research into physiology and space medicine in the life sciences division of the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES). Rheumatologist and holder of a Ph.D in neuroscience, she began her career at the rheumatology clinic of the Hopital Cochin's rehabilitation centre in Paris, then working at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) Laboratory of Neurosensory Physiology.
Ms. Haignere has been honoured with numerous awards and distinctions, having been named Grand Officier de la Legion d'honneur and Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Merite in France, and inducted into the Russian Order of Friendship of Peoples.
