The lodge's weekend guided walking tours under the Golden Gate Bridge and hikes are popular for kids (and parents) to learn about local habitats, environmental efforts and history of the park and Fort Baker. The parade ground in front of the lodge offers a grassy open space for playing catch or flying a kite. The Cavallo Point Reception has a Toy Box with a variety of toys, including kites, for families to use during their stay.
