V850ES/Jx3 MCU series expanded with 78 new derivatives
Reduced power consumption, smaller package size, more peripheral functions
(PresseBox) - MSC adds 78 new microcontrollers based on the 32-bit V850ES core from Renesas Electronics to its product portfolio.
The new derivatives of the V850ES/Jx3-L product family are available in a variety of different packages and memory versions. These range from 6 mm x 6 mm x 0.75 mm 40-pin QFN package with 16 KByte flash memory to 121-pin BGA package with a maximum of 512 KByte flash memory. A power consumption of only 0.9 mW/MIPS and a standby current consumption of significantly less than 1 µA with activated real-time clock including calendar functionality, make this device series ideal for battery-driven applications. The USB 2.0 Host & Function interface, which is additionally provided on some MCUs, enables a simple and efficient data communication.
Motor control functions, encoder timer and a number of additional communication interfaces such as USB 2.0, CAN and Ethernet on one chip are offered by the new microcontrollers of the V850ES/Jx3-E product family. The smallest version is provided in a 64-pin package. The devices, with up to 512 KByte flash memory and 124 KByte of RAM, are fully software compatible to the cost-optimized V850ES/Jx3-H series, which is now also available in extremely space-saving 40-pin and 48-pin QFN packages.
All of the new derivatives have the same features in common: integrated low-voltage detection, watchdog timer, calendar, high-speed 10-bit A/D converter as well as a large number of serial interfaces such as UART, SPI and I2C. Furthermore, a variety of security functions such as clock monitor, CRC, flash protection and bootloader update ensure a high level of reliability.
Samples and starter kits are already available from MSC.
