Jere Van Puffelen Receives IWLA Distinguished Service and Leadership Award
Northern California Business Leader Recognized for Outstanding Service to Warehouse-Based Third Party Logistics Industry
(firmenpresse) - DANVILLE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/17/13 -- The International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA) presented its 2013 Distinguished Service and Leadership Award to Jere Van Puffelen, CLP, president of Prism Team Services Inc. of Danville, Calif. The award was announced at the group's Annual Convention & Expo in Orlando, FL.
The Distinguished Service and Leadership Award recognizes outstanding leadership and service to IWLA () and to the warehouse-based third-party logistics industry as a whole. The IWLA said they chose Van Puffelen for his many years of contribution and service to the industry, as well as for his integrity and leadership.
Past Chairman of the International Warehousing & Logistics Association (IWLA) (and active since the mid-70s when it was still the American Warehouse Association), and co-founder/past president of the Distribution Centers of America (DCA), Jere is a well-known mentor, advisor and contributor to the industry's leading professional development and networking organizations. He is a founding member and Past President of the San Francisco Warehousing & Education Research Council (WERC) and an active member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) since its founding as the National Council of Physical Distribution Management (NCPDM) in 1963, a Certified Logistics Professional (CLP), and a highly respected San Francisco Bay-area business leader.
"I cannot imagine a more deserving candidate -- nobody has invested more time, energy, and passion into the warehouse-based 3PL industry and this association than Jere," said Former IWLA Chairman Arthur Barrett, president of Barrett Distribution Centers, based in Massachusetts.
"Even though Jere is now a couple years gone by as Past Chairman, his enthusiasm and commitment to our warehouse industry has not waned," said 2013 IWLA Chairman Paul Verst, president of Verst Logistics Group, on presenting the award during the 2013 IWLA Convention & Expo in Orlando.
