Heliocentris publishes Annual Report of 2012
* Sales up to EUR 7.7 million more than doubled
* Sales in the industrial segment multiplied up to almost EUR 5 million

Berlin, 18 April 2013 - Today Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG, the
specialist for autonomous power solutions and energy efficiency, publishes
its results according to HGB for the financial year 2012.
The financial year 2012 was primarily shaped by the market introduction and
successful delivery of first major orders. Our customers' satisfaction
served as an important reference to establish a substantial sales pipeline
resulting in further significant and expected increase of sales for 2013
and the subsequent years. With the set-up of necessary structures,
processes and employees we have laid the foundation for further
considerable scaling of the industrial business as well as the acquisition
of new and large customers.
Financial and operational highlights of 2012:
* Increase of sales by 133% to EUR 7.7 million (2011: EUR 3.3 million)
* Sales in the industrial segment have multiplied from EUR 0.3 million to
EUR 4.8 million
* As part of gathering experience with larger rollouts and the optimization
of operations, the revenue related gross profit margin of 28% of the first
half of the year could be improved to 31% in the second half of the year
* Significant stabilization of the training business with a turnover of
just under EUR 3 million after a clear decline in sales in the previous
year
* The regional focus of the industrial business on Middle East, Africa and
Asia led to a sharp increase in sales in the region from TEUR 961 in 2011
to TEUR 5,920 in 2012
* Announcement of two follow-up orders from the mobile network operator
'du' in the United Arab Emirates
Ayad Abul-Ella, CEO of Heliocentris AG commented: 'Due to the complete
takeover of the business activities of the P21 GmbH and its complete
integration into the group, Heliocentris was able to position itself as
integrated provider of energy management systems and turnkey energy
solutions. With the mobile network provider 'du' from the United Arab
Emirates a customer reference could be created, which was of great value to
us in the acquisition of new customers in the Middle East as well as in
North Africa and Central Asia in 2012 and in the years ahead.'
Sales increased by 133% from EUR 3.3 million to EUR 7.7 million in 2012.
This reflects the rapid growth of the telecommunication business, which
multiplied from EUR 0.3 million in 2011 to EUR 4.8 million in 2012. In
addition, the training business with a turnover of just under EUR 3 million
could be stabilized after last year's decline in sales.
Sales in Middle East, Africa and Asia increased sharply from TEUR 961 in
2011 to TEUR 5,920 in 2012, which reflects the regional focus of the
industrial business.
Other operating income was with EUR 2.2 million over the previous year
(2011: EUR 1.1 million). Therein included are EUR 0.3 million of grants as
well as EUR 1.7 million capitalized R&D.
The annual loss of the Heliocentris group increased in 2012 to TEUR 7,663
compared to TEUR 5,592 in the previous year resulting from the increased
cost base. The operating expenses for the financial year rose to EUR 12.3
million (2011: EUR 8.6 million). This increase is primarily due the rise of
personnel costs by TEUR 1,849 to TEUR 6,760 (2011: TEUR 4,911), which was
of high importance for the scaling of the industrial business. In view of
the aspired profitability in 2014, it should be particularly highlighted,
that the company structure set up in 2012 should be sufficient for sales in
the range of EUR 30 - 40 million with the implementation of only minor
further adjustments.
Dr. András Gosztonyi, CFO of Heliocentris AG commented: 'Besides the
successful entry into the business of industrial energy management and
turnkey energy systems for mobile base station, we made also good progress
with our business with renewable energy systems for applied research and
education. Since this business suffered after the takeover of the P21 GmbH
and the associated restructuring, it could be successfully stabilized in
the past year.'
On the 31 December 2012 Heliocentris had cash and cash equivalents of TEUR
2,074 (31.12.2011: TEUR 3,099).
The Annual Report will be published in English on 24 April 2013.
