Forrest brings over 34 years of experience and expertise in the areas of transportation law and litigation. Prior to joining Davis, Forrest enjoyed an extensive career in the transportation sector, being in-house regulatory litigation counsel for Canadian National Railway Company for six years, and later performing the same function for Canadian Pacific Limited for the next ten years at their respective head offices in Montreal. In 1994, he returned to private practice focusing on railway regulatory issues across Canada. In 1998, he moved his practice to Vancouver and opened a prominent boutique firm.
Forrest represents clients across Canada and the United States in transportation law matters involving railways, including shippers, ports, terminals, all levels of government and commuter rail authorities. He has extensive experience acting in proceedings under the National Transportation Act, 1987, and the Canada Transportation Act (1988 to present). Forrest is an integral part of the firm's national Transportation Group and Litigation Group, and this underscores the firm's ongoing commitment in aligning our expertise with the needs of our clients.
