5 Ways to Celebrate St George's Day With Asda Money

1. Fancy dress
There are lots of fun ways to celebrate the patron Saint, however one of the easiest and cheapest ways to do this would be by organising a fancy dress party at work or at home, or encouraging your local school to have a Mufti day - where children can trade in their school uniform for the day for St George's day inspired outfit. 2. Morris Dancing

Alternatively why not host a good old fashioned English Tea Dance. Given the success of 'Strictly Come Dancing' on the BBC this should be popular with young and old. Invite a dance teacher to teach some of the young ones and marvel at the dance moves of the older generation.
3. Mummers Plays
St. George frequently appears in Mummers' Plays during Easter and Christmas celebrations. Mummers' Plays have been performed in England for hundreds of years. They are folk dramas based on the legend of St. George and the Seven Champions of Christendom and tell tales of his life. If you are keen to stage your own Mummer's play, then a good starting point is the collection of scripts on . Your local theatre group may also be staging a play, and your local authority may be able to provide further details.
4. Fly the flag
One way to show your English and proud is by waving the native flag. You can purchase these from most Asda stores.
5. St. George and the 3 Cs
St George is associated with the three Cs - Courage, Chivalry and Charity - and you could organise events in the local area that help reflect these qualities such as charity fundraiser or a mock jousting competition.
