China BPIC Surveying Instruments AG preliminary figures indicate a
strong performance in 2012

Frankfurt a. Main, 23. April 2013 - China BPIC Surveying Instruments AG
(BPIC AG) publishes its preliminary figures for the full year 2012 today.
The Company is the holding of the Chinese manufacturer of surveying
instruments under its own 'BPIC' brand and provider of designing and
manufacturing service of whole surveying instruments equipment and
component systems to other surveying instruments companies ('ODM
Business'). The unaudited financial figures indicate that BPIC AG has an
outstanding performance in 2012.
Based on the unaudited figures, BPIC AG registered revenue of EUR 7.10
million, an increase of 69.8% compared to 2011. The main growth driver was
growing sales volume of all its branded products and in particular the
growing sales quantity of total station, which is considered as the key
surveying instrument in the surveying, construction and engineering
industry in addition to GPS receivers.
BPIC AG also remained highly profitable. While gross profit grew by 76.9%
to EUR 4.12 million, gross profit margin improved by approximately 2.3
percentage points to 58.0%. The higher gross profit margin mainly resulted
from the increased contribution from the higher margin branded product
segment (relative to the ODM Business). In addition, within the branded
product segment, the revenue contribution of total station, with a gross
margin among the highest in the Company's product portfolio, increased
substantially compared to other products.
BPIC AG's profit before tax also grew approximately 59.9% to EUR 3.74
million. Profit before tax margin decreased by approximately 3.3 percentage
points to 52.7%. The net profit increased 55.9% to EUR 2.82 million with a
margin of 39.7%, representing a decrease in net profit margin of 3.5
percentage points. The decrease of profit before tax margin and net profit
margin was the result of the non-recurring charge for the listing cost of
the Company.
Mr. Wei XIE, the founder, Chairman and General Manager of BPIC AG, comments
on the preliminary figures: 'We are very proud of our last year's
performance. The excellent development of our BPIC branded products last
year has confirmed the successful change of our strategic focus towards our
own branded products. And we are very confident about the performance ahead
due to the growing demand of our surveying instruments. In facing the
growing demand in China and overseas, we planned to expand our production
capacity to cope with it. Also, we are going to launch new products e.g.
Window-CE total station, hand-held distance meter, high-precision GPS
receiver etc. in order to broaden our product portfolio to capture the
growing demand from different sectors. Furthermore we are going to
participate in this year's INTERGEO exhibition in Essen/Germany in October
to further promote our 'BPIC' branded products. All in all, we are very
optimistic about the future of BPIC AG and we believe we are just at the
beginning of exploiting our full potential.'
