Dodd-Frank Act Places Liability on Apparel and Footwear Manufacturers

Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, or the "Conflict Minerals Law," requires publicly-traded US companies to disclose the sources of certain minerals in their products originating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Manufacturers will be required to obtain an audit performed by an independent third party to verify their supply chain and brands and retailers will require detailed data about the composition of their products, the country of origin of conflict minerals, and the means of production throughout their supply chain.
Inherent to ecVision's platform are the tools to help manage supplier-specific information such as points of contact for specific areas of responsibility (fire safety or raw material procurement).
