ID: 25240

The 25th edition of the prevention forum provides intensive information and experience exchange with its 100 speakers/ Around 1,000 participants expected to attend the three-day conference/ The most important trade fair of the year will present innovations

Leipzig/Karlsruhe, 16 September 2010. The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico showed dramatically just what kind of environmental damage can result if risks and malfunctions are not adequately taken into account before building and operating facilities and what can happen if appropriate emergency measures have not been specified and tested. During the 2010 Arbeitsschutz Aktuell – Safety and Health conference in Leipzig, Dr. Nicola Klöß, director of the Office for Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety of the University of Leipzig, will look into environmental risk assessment of facilities. Finally, the Environmental Protection task force of the Verband Deutscher Sicherheitsingenieure (VDSI) is presenting an action guide for process-related hazard assessment, which will be elaborated using examples. An entire series of talks has been dedicated to the topic of environmental and climate protection during the 25th issue of the prevention forum, to be held from 19 through 21 October 2010. A total of 100 speakers will provide the opportunity for an intensive exchange of knowledge and experience at the event, which about 1,000 participants are expected to attend.

(firmenpresse) - An alternative to legally specified environmental targets, such as those for light bulbs, will be presented by Dr. Freimut Schröder. The department head of Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety as well as the director of the product inspection laboratory of the Siemens Healthcare sector puts the focus on the path taken by the COCIR industrial association, which represents the manufacturers of medical devices. The voluntary commitment of an entire industry to take into account environmental aspects of their products, and thus reach the targets set by the European "EcoDesign for Energy-Related Products" directive, harbours the potential for specific requirements, solutions and opportunities.
"Explore the benefits and the sustainability"
Entrepreneurs, safety and environmental managers or energy managers will also find interesting ideas and products at the “the market of opportunities fair”. Numerous innovations are being introduced at the most important trade fair of the year. For example, Helmut Hund GmbH, which has been engaged for more than 30 years in the environmental technology field and is one of the leading technology manufacturers, is presenting its new evaluation program for the mobile measuring of particulate matter, "TM-data". The name asecos stands for security and ecology – for safety and environmental protection in the handling of hazardous substances. By joining the Arbeitsschutz Aktuell – Safety and Health, the Gründau firm proves that the name says it all.
"The Arbeitsschutz Aktuell wants to invite the responsible actors to explore the benefits and sustainability of the various proposed solutions," says Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Damberg, president of the German Joint Association of Safety Engineers and Safety Inspectors (FASI) which sponsors the threeday trade fair and the conference.

“Arbeitsschutz Aktuell – Safety and Health” takes place every two years at different trade fair venues. Partners from institutions and businesses in the relevant regions are actively involved in determining the topics covered. The German Joint Association of Safety Engineers and Safety Inspectors (FASI) sponsors the three-day trade fair and the conference, which in 2010 is being held under the slogan “Focus on shaping a safe and healthy future”.

Arbeitsschutz Aktuell is organised by HINTE GmbH. The FASI comprises three member organisations – the VDSI (Association of German Safety Engineers), the VDRI (German Association of Inspection Engineering) and the VDGAB (Association of German Factory Inspectors).
