Eltek ASA: Report first quarter 2013

Eltek reported a 31 percent increase in operating profit (EBIT) to NOK 35
million in the first quarter 2013, compared to NOK 27 million in the first
quarter 2012. Profit before tax increased to NOK 30 million from NOK 7 million,
whereas net profit from the continuing business increased to NOK 22 million from
NOK 6 million.
Revenue increased three percent to NOK 813 million in the first quarter, or by
seven percent on a currency adjusted basis. Gross margin was NOK 26.1 percent,
and gross profit NOK 212 million.
Eltek continues to see an active market, and believes its High Efficiency
technology and cost-efficient product portfolio will allow for growth in a
telecom power market where increasing network capacity requirements are expected
to continue to support demand. Eltek also continues to see a positive market
outlook for its industrial applications business.
Eltek built order backlog during the first quarter 2013, and combined with
seasonal demand patterns this should support sequential revenue growth into the
second quarter of the year.
