California Department of Finance Awards VIP $1.11M FI$Cal Project Management Contract

(firmenpresse) - FOLSOM, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/29/13 -- The California Department of Finance (DOF) has awarded (VIP) a $1.11 million contract to provide enterprise program and project management services for the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) project.

FI$Cal will enable the state to integrate its accounting, budgeting, cash management, and procurement operations into a single system. This state government business transformation project will prepare the state systems and workforce to function in an integrated financial management environment through the implementation of ERP software.

VIP's chief operations officer for commercial and state and local government markets, Jeff Mullins, said that VIP supported earlier stages of the FI$Cal project and now looks forward to providing project management services during this implementation phase.

Department of Finance, State Controller's Office, State Treasurer's Office, and Department of General Services have partnered together to consolidate hundreds of independent legacy systems and department-specific applications that support internal business operations. VIP will assist the FI$Cal project management office (PMO) in the successful management of the plans, processes, procedures and activities necessary to effectively implement the system.
