Youbisheng Green Paper AG achieves steady growth in 2012
Munich, 30 April 2013. Youbisheng Green Paper AG, a Chinese manufacturer of
eco-friendly linerboard for the growing Chinese consumer goods industry,
managed to successfully increase its overall sales during the fiscal year
2012 by 6.9 per cent from 92.2 million Euros to 98.6 million Euros. The
company achieved increased sales revenues through an optimized product mix
and by partly outsourcing production to subcontractors. Due to lower raw
material costs EBIT increased significantly by 14.9 per cent to 23.7
million Euros. As a result the EBIT margin exceeded expectations and
amounted to 24.1 per cent (2011: 22.5 per cent). The company's net profit
for the year 2012 amounted to 17.7 million Euros.
In the financial year 2012 Youbisheng focussed on higher profit margin
products and further developing the linerboard business especially in
regards to production costs and product innovation. This enabled the
company to increase its gross profit margin from 25.0 per cent to 27.1 per
cent.
The demand for Youbisheng's testliner products is growing rapidly due to
the high quality and innovative characteristics. Sales of the double-sided
testliner increased by 16.7 per cent to 20.7 million Euros. During 2012,
Youbisheng managed to produce and market anti-counterfeit linerboard, which
protects branded consumer goods, reaching sales of 2.2 million Euros and
representing a gross profit margin of approximately 35.0 per cent. The
single-sided and sub-contracted testliner experienced a total revenue
growth of 1.6 per cent, amounting to 75.7 million Euros. The overall
average selling price increased by 7.5 per cent, from 416 Euros per ton to
447 Euros per ton.
In 2012, Youbisheng maintained a strong balance sheet with a total equity
of 64.0 million Euros and an equity ratio of 72.9 per cent. The cash
position amounted to 47.2 million Euros as of 31 December 2012.
Outlook
Due to the rapidly growing market demands which are exceeding the company's
current production capacity, Youbisheng will invest into a third high-end
testliner production line in Huanggang City, Hubei Province. The new
production line will have an annual capacity of an additional 300,000 tons,
twice as much as the present production capacity and will enable the
company to attend to its growing customer base more efficiently and
generate more cash flow for the group.
While the company is waiting for the new production facility to be in
place, the management is continuing to expand the sales network outside of
Fujian and Guangdong provinces. At the same time, Youbisheng is focussing
on research and development in line to constantly introduce new innovative
products to the market. The next product launch will be a super thin
linerboard, which can be used as an insulator in electronic circuits. The
management expects to launch the new product in the course of 2013.
Despite the fact that the economic growth in China is slowing down, the
demand for consumer goods remains strong, especially for the middle and
high quality consumer products, which need high quality packaging.
Therefore the Youbisheng Group anticipates to increase itssales in the
following years.
For the fiscal year 2013, management expects revenues to reach over 110
million Euros and an EBIT margin of at least 24 per cent.
