(firmenpresse) - WALTHAM, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/01/13 -- Tom Main, head of Oliver Wyman's health and life sciences practices, keynotes New England Employee Benefits Council's (NEEBC) 2013 Benefits Fair and Trade show on June 5 in Norwood, Mass. It's one of NEEBC's two premier annual events for benefits professionals.
Breakout sessions will cover healthcare in transition: PPACA, health insurance exchanges and wellness.
Main will discuss how the health marketplace must be redesigned from the patient's perspective with an unrelenting focus on improving patient value. The healthcare-market value equation is completely broken, as healthcare costs 8 percent more a year while value declines by 10 percent, he says.
"The first step toward change is to embrace population health, focusing on high-need and high-cost patient segments that represent the best opportunity to improve care and lower costs," he says.

Susan Connolly of Mercer and two other experts will tackle "wellness 2013 and beyond" -- how to incent employees to own the health now and in the future.
The NEEBC Fair will also give attendees the chance to visit more than 55 exhibitors, including Fidelity Investments, Harvard Pilgrim, Mercer, MetLife, Tufts Health Plan, UnitedHealthcare, Unum and Vanguard, as well as brokers and consultants.
