ContiTech: New TVD Kits in Product Range
Solutions with V-ribbed belts and torsional vibration dampers / Applications for French vehicles / Optimal support for daily tasks at in the workshop
(PresseBox) - The ContiTech Power Transmission Group has expanded its range of kits with V-ribbed belts and torsional vibration dampers (TVD). The company is launching solutions for popular vehicle models of French manufacturers, including the Citröen C5, Peugeot 307 and 607, as well as the Renault Mégane. ContiTech is also offering new practical kits for cars from Fiat and Lancia as well as the delivery vans Peugeot Boxer and Citröen Jumper. The kits contain, of course, the belt and TVD, but also the required retaining bolts. "After all, drive belts in OE quality from ContiTech are only found in the original ContiTech kits," underlines Markus Pirsch, head of the ContiTech Power Transmission Group's Marketing Service.
Torsional vibration dampers are indispensible in modern diesel engines. Belt pulleys perform a key function in the drive system, absorbing vibrations from the crankshaft and thus protecting the drive belts and assemblies. If the TVD fails, this can have serious consequences for the drive system: the torsional vibrations of the crankshaft are no longer absorbed, thereby damaging both the belt and the driven accessories. "Mechanics should therefore check belt pulleys for cracks, deformation or traces of corrosion each time the belt is replaced," recommends Markus Pirsch, marketing service manager at the ContiTech Power Transmission Group. "Since damage is not always evident, although it very much impairs the proper functioning of the engine nonetheless, replacement is advisable every 120,000 km."
