(TSX: FTS) will hold its Annual Meeting of Shareholders on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. (Newfoundland Daylight Time), 9:00 a.m. (EDT), at the Holiday Inn St. John's, 180 Portugal Cove Road, St. John's, NL.

The presentation that will be given during the meeting will be webcast on the Fortis Inc. website at .

Mr. H. Stanley Marshall, President and Chief Executive Officer, Fortis Inc., will review the important events of the past year. Mr. Barry V. Perry, Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Fortis Inc., will review the financial performance of the Corporation in 2012 and provide an overview of results for the first quarter 2013.

The Corporation serves more than 2,000,000 gas and electricity customers.
