Bionano Proposes Power Purchase Agreement and LED Installations to Several Major Corporations
October 27, 2010. Bionano, provider of world-class sustainable energy technology products, services, processes, and deployment solutions, announced today that it is negotiating several Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), which include solar installations and proprietary LED lights. Under these PPAs, Bionano will install solar panels and LED lights, thereby significantly reducing customers’ energy consumption. Bionano proposes to charge its potential clients a 20% reduced rates on their future electricity bills compared to their current. Bionano would then be entitled to state and federal rebates, carbon credits and other incentives, as well as getting the bulk of the benefit for energy reduction.
The deals include no out-of-pocket costs to the potential clients. In fact, the potential clients would be guaranteed a reduced energy rate over the next 7 to 10 years, depending on the contract. The potential clients all have excellent credit ratings, and several are globally recognized brand names, Fortune 500 companies, and global leaders in their respective industries. All proposed deals have a high net present value to Bionano, and all have a return on investment exceeding 15%, with a payback period of less than 5 years.
