ContiTech at MDA India 2010
Rubber and plastics specialist on hand in Mumbai presenting drive technology and air actuators? Produces right in India
(PresseBox) - High-performance solutions for machinery and plant engineering are what ContiTech AG, Hanover, Germany, will be showing off at MDA India 2010 in Mumbai from December 15 to 18. The rubber and plastics specialist has its range of V-belts, heavy-duty timing belts and air actuators on display at booth 410 in hall 1D. In comments prior to the trade show, Konrad Müller, general manager ContiTech Power Transmission Group, notes: "The Indian market - like all of Asia - numbers among our core markets. We are interested in the country in equal measure both as a place to manufacture products and a market to sell them in. We have beefed up our involvement in the market in the last few years and shall further expand it.
Our participation in the MDA trade fair will help us in that process."
ContiTech has been represented in India for many several years, operating two production plants and employing around 700 there.
V-belts from local Indian production
The company is able to offer its Indian customers a broad range of locally produced ContiTech brand V-belts that are used in agricultural implements and elsewhere to deliver the right power transmission. Visitors to the show will be able to see CONTI-V® STANDARD wrapped V-belts and CONTI-V® ADVANCE raw-edge V-belts. New lengths have been added to the CONTI SYNCHROCHAIN® heavy-duty timing belt portfolio to extend the belt's special strengths to the most diverse applications. At MDA, ContiTech additionally has on view the different CONTI SYNCHROFORCE® timing belt types for the most varied performance ranges.
Air actuators for pneumatics applications
Elastomer products for industrial pneumatics and for isolating systems and machines from vibration will likewise be available for viewing. These include air actuators for pneumatic tasks in machine, apparatus and plant engineering as well as single and double-convolution air springs for vibration-free machine suspension. Air actuators are used in very many industries: In applications where severe external caking and contamination is a problem, air actuators are a wear-free, cost-efficient solution. Since air actuators get by without mechanically operated parts like pistons, piston rods and friction gaskets, they are not subject to wear and are free of friction. This gives them an edge over conventional cylinders. They are used in the woodworking and textile machinery industries, in conveyor systems as well as in offshore applications, in punch and forming presses, in sawmill machines and in the foodstuffs, construction and paper industries.
Company producing right in India
ContiTech is a leading development partner and manufacturer of bearing components and complete systems for stationary machines and foundations as well as of self-regulating air springs for commercial vehicles, buses and rail vehicles. In 2010 an air spring systems production facility was opened at the ContiTech plant in Sonepat near New Delhi to supply the India market and the state-run Indian Railway in particular. At a plant located near Kolkata, ContiTech manufactures conveyor belts, too.
