Funkwerk AG sells Funkwerk Information Technologies York Limited
Focusing strategy continues
Kölleda, 31 May 2013 - Funkwerk AG, Kölleda, today sold its British arm,
Funkwerk Information Technologies York Limited. The subsidiary was taken
over by the Canadian Trapeze Group, a global leader in the supply of
advanced software solutions and intelligent transport systems that consider
the full 360 degrees of passenger transport. The Trapeze Group has
operations in Europe, North America and Southeast Asia.
Signing today's contract signifies a further step in the strategic
reorientation process of Funkwerk to focus on its two core business
segments, Traffic&Control Communication (TCC) and Security Communication
(SC).
Funkwerk Information Technologies York Ltd. had been a fully-owned
subsidiary of Funkwerk Information Technologies GmbH, Kiel, which in turn
is wholly owned by Funkwerk AG in Kölleda, Germany.
Funkwerk York, which currently employs 27 people, specialises in software
solutions for rail operations planning, simulation and management. The
systems assist customers, which include global train operating companies
and infrastructure operators, with timetable planning, the simulation of
rail operations, fleet planning, and resource management.
