Hochschule Karlsruhe Presents the 2013 Valerius Füner Prize
Honoring the Very Best

(PresseBox) - Since 2001, the best Mechanical Engineering students who focus on refrigeration, air-conditioning, and environmental technology at Hochschule Karlsruhe have been receiving the Valerius Füner Prize. The ceremony was held at BITZER Kühlmaschinenbau GmbH in Rottenburg last Friday.
The primary sponsor of the prize is The Schaufler Foundation, which was established in 2005 by Senator h. c. Peter Schaufler, Head of the BITZER Group. Ingrid Bossert-Spiegelhalder, Chairwoman of The Schaufler Foundation Management Board, and Professor Michael Arnemann from Hochschule Karlsruhe presented the prize to Stefan Eisenhauer and Benjamin Martin Eltges, both of whom completed their bachelor degree course with an exceptional grade: 1.4. Stefan Eisenhauer received his diploma in December 2012 for his work in evaluating the energy efficiency of refrigeration systems. Before that, Benjamin Martin Eltges was presented with a bachelor?s degree for his examination of a vapor generator concept. They both started their degree course at Hochschule Karlsruhe in 2008 and have already gained practical experience abroad. Rainer Große-Kracht, BITZER Chief Technology Officer, couldn?t be happier with the excellent grades of the two award winners: ?The refrigeration, air-conditioning, and environmental industry requires young, dedicated staff interested in high-tech fields, which is why we are happy to support students who perform well.? The Schaufler Foundation therefore also set up an endowed chair at Universität Dresden for refrigeration, cryogenic, and compressor technology in order to promote the education of young people. Students can also get to know BITZER?s activities at its national and international locations with internships, research projects, and dissertations.
The BITZER Group is the world?s largest independent manufacturer of refrigeration compressors with sales companies and production sites for reciprocating, screw, and scroll compressors as well as pressure vessels all over the globe. In 2012, 3,046 employees generated sales of ?639 million.
