BMO Harris Bank Volunteers Lend a Hand to Chicago's Northern Suburbs
Botanic Gardens, Lambs Farm, Food Bank to Benefit From Bank's Employee Volunteer Day
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 06/06/13 -- Employees of BMO Harris Bank partnered with over 50 organizations in the Greater Chicagoland Area for their largest annual Employee Volunteer Day yet. During the week of June 3, over 1,500 Chicagoland employees took time away from their desk to volunteer at various nonprofits throughout their community.
Over 200 employees in the northern suburbs rolled up their sleeves to help their community and those in need. Among their many projects, they:
Helped plant the central vegetable garden and clean the facility at Lambs Farm in Libertyville
Spruced up an painted the Palatine Opportunity Center's classroom
Sorted and packaged donated food at the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Park City
Worked with garden botanists on display gardens, plant production and restoration of native prairie areas at Chicago Botanic Gardens
"Whether we are painting classrooms, planting gardens or restoring prairie areas, our employees look forward to returning to our local nonprofits each year to shine an even greater light on the needs of such key organizations in our community," said Wallace Harris, Jr., Regional President, BMO Harris Bank.
Over 5,600 BMO employees participated in this year's North American-wide BMO Volunteer Day, initially started in 2001.
