Seewer Podiums at European EMX250

ID: 267855

(PresseBox) - Jeremy Seewer continues to be in full contention for top honours in the ultra-competitive European EMX250 series for Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe and captured his second consecutive podium result at round two of eight in the series at Ernee in France today.
Some 39,000 fans came to the eighth Grand Prix of 17 where the 100-strong entry for the EMX250 contest was once again holding support status to the MX1 and MX2 categories. Across the narrow layout, MX2 GP star Max Anstie took his factory-backed RM-Z250 to 10th overall.
While Anstie continues his rate of evolution and progression with the RM-Z, it is Seewer that is also charging on a path of personal development: The small Swiss fought with Valentin Guillod and Ceriel Klein Kromhof in the busy moto on Sunday morning and just managed to find a way past the Dutchman to grab second spot. His successive rostrum appearance means his keeps pace with Guillod in the championship standings and lies just eight points adrift with the third meeting to take place in Sweden at the end of the month.
Ernee was a slippery and tricky experience; the tight and twisty hillside layout very limited with grip, ruts and valid passing opportunities. Anstie was third fastest in pre-qualification but was ultimately undone by his starts. His position of 17th in the gate for Sunday was a result of being knocked off exiting the first corner of the qualification heat. The Brit could not find the drive to place himself in the leading gaggle for the openings of both 35 minute and two-lap motos and initiated a set of hard fight-backs. He went from 10th to seventh in Moto1 and responded from 18th to 14th in Moto2.
Jorge Zaragoza took part in his first meeting for the team in 2013 since recovering from a broken arm. The Spaniard was also steering the RM-Z250 for the first time in a competitive environment and gained valuable race mileage on his way back to peak fitness. The teenager placed outside of the points - in 33rd - but now has time to build his form up for round three.

Anstie - who is seventh in the MX2 standings - and the team will next tackle the prestigious climbs of Maggiora for the Grand Prix of Italy next weekend.
Max Anstie:
"I felt really good going into this weekend and stuck a good time in the qualification practice but the starts are killing it at the moment. I feel like there is only so much we can do. We do a million starts each week and my technique is spot-on. We're searching a little bit. We just seemed to struggle and it was like enduro out there on this track; it seemed like we were never more than half-throttle most of the way round and were sliding all over the place. It is shame because I know if I could have got away at the front it would have made life a lot easier. We've all worked hard and make improvements for these hard-pack tracks. We'll go back to the drawing board and get ready for Italy."
