(firmenpresse) - Together with its parent trade fair Schweissen & Schneiden in Essen, the BEIJING ESSEN WELDING & CUTTING trade fair is one of the world"s leading specialized exhibitions for welding, cutting and other processes in the metalworking industry. This year, the trade fair is being held in Shanghai - thus giving KUKA Systems a home crowd. Together with its Chinese subsidiary KUKA Flexible Manufacturing Systems, the Augsburg-based system builder will be there from 18 to 21 June 2013 (Hall N5, Booth 440), presenting itself and its expertise to the Asian market.

KUKA Systems GmbH is taking part in this year"s Beijing Essen Welding & Cutting 2013 in Shanghai and presenting innovative joining technologies and service-proven solutions for the metalworking industry.
In addition to technological innovations and pioneering welding and joining processes in robot-based automation, the joining specialist will be focusing the spotlight on the friction welding process. KUKA is presenting the process live at its trade fair booth and demonstrating how a wide range of different material combinations (aluminum-copper, steel-brass, aluminum-steel, etc.) can be welded together stably. Numerous customers from the Automotive sector and General Industry put their faith in friction welding, as the process ensures highly reliable joints. Like Magnetarc welding, friction welding guarantees utmost quality in the manufacture of safety-relevant components such as drives, engine components, axles or turbine rotors. With its machine portfolio, the Augsburg-based system builder demonstrates that unusual welds, such as aluminum-copper welds, are the state of the art in joining technology. These material combinations are possible using this process and are used in fields such as e-mobility and lightweight construction. Such pairings are only partially possible using other processes.
With the latest KUKA robot, the LBR iiwa, the automation specialist presents a vision for the future of flexible machine tending and the efficient utilization of production capacities at its customers" plants.

Furthermore, system integrator KUKA Systems is showcasing its process expertise in the field of laser welding. Here, the company is concentrating on flexible systems - with impressive process reliability, speed and precision - for laser welding and laser hybrid welding.
