W2E Wind to Energy GmbH, the developer of wind turbines, will start operating its first own test turbine in 2011.
(PresseBox) - W2E Wind to Energy GmbH, the developer of wind turbines, will start operating its first own test turbine in 2011.
The test turbine is to be erected and commissioned in March 2011 south of Rostock, at the Tarnow site near the head office of W2E (Germany).
?Now finally we will be able to test, implement and optimize our own developments and systems and the associated regulation and control processes in close proximity and thus in real time under actual conditions, and significantly improve the state of development," explains Christoph Klewitz, CEO of W2E GmbH.
The test turbine with a rotor diameter of 93 m and a nacelle height of 100 m has a nominal power of 2050 kWh. One of the advantages is that engineers will be able to test and validate the research and development results with a rigid measuring tower. Thus, W2E will be able to collaborate with W2E licence holders in placing already optimized turbine technologies in the market at a sustainable value, and to carry out extensive test series for the necessary certification and for intended further developments.
W2E Wind to Energy GmbH (W2E) develops multi-megawatt class wind power plants. That is, W2E?s specialty is in conceptually designing and developing entire wind turbine systems. W2E select suitable rotor blades, optimize control strategies and specify the design of an appropriate pitch system, drive train, energy conversion system, tower and foundation. Additionally, W2E service includes fully certifying, operating and comprehensively testing the prototype of each new development.
The result of the highly specialized design is offered to international customers as licenses. W2E deliver this product as a comprehensive set of documents which enable the licencee to manufacture, install, commission and maintain the wind power plant. Documentation comprises all calculations, proofs, certificates, part lists, specifications, descriptions and drawings, including training documents. All of our documentation complies with an established quality-assurance system.
W2E Wind to Energy GmbH was founded in May in 2003. The number of employees increased from 7 to 20. A subsidiary was established in canada. W2E has customer relationsships to german, chinese, indian, korean and american companies. The product portfolio offers turbine plattforms for 1.3 MW, 2.0 MW and 2.5 MW.
