Redberry Investments Inc. Acquires 32 Additional Burger King(R) Restaurants in Canada
BURGER KING(R) master franchisee in Canada expands footprint to 126 company-owned BURGER KING(R) restaurant locations across the country
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/18/13 -- Redberry Investments Inc., the Quebec-based master franchisee for almost 300 BURGER KING® restaurants in Canada, today announced an investment of $20 million to acquire 32 restaurant locations in Ontario from Heartland Food LLC, an American BURGER KING® franchisee. The 32 restaurants, which currently generate $45 million in annual sales, will maintain all existing staff and will increase the number of BURGER KING® staff employed by Redberry Investments Inc. in Canada to 3,860. The transaction follows Redberry's purchase of Burger King Restaurants of Canada from Burger King Worldwide announced in April of this year.
Andreas Kragaris, Robert Laverdure and Christian LeBrun, shareholders of Redberry Investments Inc. welcome the expansion. "Since launching in 2005, Redberry has increased the number of restaurants we operate by 970 per cent, positioning the company as an important player in Canada's foodservice industry," said Christian LeBrun, General Manager of Redberry Investments Inc. "Future investments planned by the company in the coming years will total more than $90 million."
