New Managing Director at Lloyd Dynamowerke
Matthias Dankwardt takes over for Berthold Groeneveld, who enters retirement

(PresseBox) - A new era has begun at Lloyd Dynamowerke GmbH & Co. KG (LDW): Matthias Dankwardt takes over as managing director from Berthold Groeneveld, who has led the company for 17 years and entered retirement on June 1st.
Groeneveld had joined LDW in February 1973 as an engineer in the technical calculations department. He later became product development manager and technical manager before taking over as managing director in 1996. Groeneveld successfully led LDW out of economic imperilment, which had been caused by the bankruptcy of its former parent company, AEG.
"I am following in large footprints", Dankwardt therefore says. The 45-year-old Bremen native has known the machine building company since 1986, when he started an apprenticeship as electrical equipment mechanic. He later received a university degree in power engineering and returned to LDW, where he worked in various departments and leadership positions, making him familiar with all internal processes.
Dankwardt is very optimistic regarding the company's future development: "Everything is pointing in the right direction", he says. "I have a very, very positive outlook." He is supported by a leadership team which is gradually transitioned to the next generation and which will place an even stronger focus on product development and engineering services in the upcoming years. At the same time, the cooperation with LDW's parent company Kirloskar Electric will be further intensified.
