Multi-Contact introduces connector series MC4-EVO 3

(PresseBox) - At Intersolar Europe 2013 in Munich, Multi-Contact, the leader in PV connectors, introduces a new name for their PV connector series. The pre-assembled cable sets, widely known as MC4PLUS, will from now on be marketed under the name "MC4-EVO 3". The MC4-EVO 3 products are compatible with the original MC4 connectors used worldwide, and are available with cable cross sections of 2.5, 4, and 6mm2.
The connector system is certified for 1500 VDC according to EN50548, and is UL6703 recognized for 1000 VDC. As in all Multi-Contact products, MC Multilam Technology ensures efficient energy transmission. Owing to a number of contact points the MC4-EVO 3 connectors tolerate loads of up to 30 A (with 4 or 6mm2). The innovative integrated sealing system guarantees high protection degrees IP65, IP67 and IP68 (1h/1m). Further, ammonia resistance tests by the DLG (German Agricultural Society) certify that the connectors withstand aggressive stable air over a time period of at least 20 years. Thanks to proven salt mist resistance according to DIN EN 60068-2-52:1996 the MC4-EVO 3 is also suited for use in coastal areas.
