Audi finally announced the price of the most awaited SUV SQ5 in US. After being released in Europe, the SQ5 will sooner be available in the US market under supercharged 3.0T engine format, which can be called as another variant of the actual model and is suited to perform best on US Streets.
(firmenpresse) - Cologne, Germany based iconic automobile manufacturer Audi today released the details related to the price of their upcoming offering – the SQ5 SUV. Priced at $51,900, the 2014 model is seen as blend of luxury value and excellent performance by the experts of the field. The SUV is expected to hit the streets sometime in the upcoming summer season.
Sources confirmed that the model is meant for the US market and has fair share of differences from the one available in Europe. When talked few words about the Audi SQ5, Marc said, “The European SQ5 is powered by a turbocharged diesel engine while the North American version boasts of supercharged 3.0T motor by the company.” He further added, “The engine is a notch above the one in the Audi S4, and is good for 354HP and 347 lb-ft of torque.” The petrol engine would be a little more powerful than the diesel model of Europe.
If experts of the field are to be believed, Audi has priced the SUV just right to attract the customers to the segment that is already growing in popularity. With almost no competition, the SUV is likely to be a smash hit. Details related to pre booking of the same are expected to be announced in some time. Marc added, “SUV’s are liked by people across the globe and same is the case when it comes to North America. Premium SUV’s including those from Porsche Cayenne as well as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 are selling like hot cakes and a good response is expected for the latest offering by Audi as well.”
According to the sources, the SUV would be able to do 0 to 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds with the top speed of 155 mph. The engine is mated to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission sending power to all four wheels. Experts see BMW X5 xDrive50i as a potential rival of the Audi’s latest offering. The BMW SUV is powered by a 4.4-liter V-8 engine providing 445 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. Better price of the Audi SUV is likely to play a vital role in the sales though.
