Compuware Named a Leader in IDC MarketScape for IT PPM
Compuware Placed in Leading Category for IT PPM, Earns Major Vendor Designations for PPM SaaS, IT Financial Management and ALM/ IT PPM Categories
(PresseBox) - Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR), the technology performance company, today announced that IDC, a premier provider of global market intelligence, has named it a leader for IT PPM (project and portfolio management) in its latest IDC MarketScape report, titled: IT Project and Portfolio Management 2010 Vendor Analysis. IDC also awarded Compuware "major vendor" designations within the report's PPM SaaS, IT Financial Management and ALM/IT PPM categories.
The MarketScape stated: "As a result of (Compuware's) excellent product capabilities and high-end user base, Compuware placed in the leading vendor segment for IDC's IT PPM enterprise view." The report also noted that "Compuware also offers flexible delivery models," and that Changepoint provides "... strong resource management as a solution that originally targeted professional services organizations."
"As a strong player in the enterprise IT PPM market, Compuware has executed well with Changepoint, evolving the product to target user demand with frequent functional updates and effective process and delivery models," stated Melinda Ballou and Joseph Pucciarelli, co-authors of the IDC report. Ballou and Pucciarelli also pointed out that "...users...have opted for Compuware due to its strong customer relationship support and accelerators to help drive adoption, portfolio (and) resource management."

The IDC MarketScape provides an assessment of four key views of the IT project and portfolio management market: 1) enterprise IT PPM; 2) software-as-a-service (SaaS)/ on-demand; 3) IT financial management; and 4) application life-cycle management/ IT PPM.
