A Focus on Smart Grid-Compatible Solutions
(PresseBox) - More and more home systems are being integrated into a network and can be regulated using a single controller. At the ISH trade fair in Frankfurt, Lodam Electronics, a BITZER Group company, introduced its new ventilation controller, which also offers interesting options for remote monitoring and operating.
The number of integrated systems with heat pump, ventilation, solar thermal energy, and photovoltaics that can be regulated with a single controller is on the rise. Using Web server solutions, these systems can even be controlled, operated, and maintained remotely via the Internet. Like networking all of a house?s controllers for home automation, communication with the smart grid is also becoming more important.
Lodam Electronics, which specializes in control electronics for cooling, air conditioning, and heating systems, supports this process and makes it easier for system manufacturers to integrate their products into a single network. ?We have simplified the smart grid-ready certification process for manufacturers of heat pumps, as our controller features all the required functions and can be used as a plug-and-play solution,? explains Sales Manager Carsten Pedersen.
The new ventilation controller presented by Lodam Electronics at ISH in Frankfurt can be combined with a heat pump, solar panels, and photovoltaics. It features a built-in Ethernet module with integrated Web server for external communication. The Web server solution not only allows end users to access their system remotely via a computer or smartphone, but also makes manufacturers of heat pumps and ventilation systems smart grid-capable.
But remote access isn?t the only benefit that extending the interface into the Internet provides: a Web server can easily be adjusted in line with the corporate design of a manufacturer and offers end customers a user-friendly interface. Lodam Electronics provided food for thought about the user interface and display of the future at ISH. The main question was: Is a display even necessary or is a smartphone app enough? ?If OEM manufacturers choose a user panel, they should use it to stand out from the crowd. Individual display design that fits their company design line, that?s what we also offer our OEM customers,? explains Sales Manager Carsten Pedersen.
