Former first lady Nancy Reagan toured in its first week, saying, "How exciting it was to see so many of Abraham Lincoln's personal belongings, especially his famous top hat, all brought together for this one exhibit. I'm very proud that Ronnie's Library is offering this wonderful glimpse into the life of Abraham Lincoln, and I hope Americans and people from around the world will come to see it."
The tremendous response to this exhibit is expected to continue through the Fourth of July weekend and summer months. With its unique and educational content for all ages, has a broad appeal to families with children of all ages, as well as to seniors and the general public alike.
"The response to our Lincoln exhibit has been extraordinary," said John Heubusch, executive director for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation. "There is both a historical and Hollywood fascination with our country's sixteenth president and there has been overwhelming demand to see it brought together. Nowhere else in the country can families observe President Lincoln's writings and policies like his signed copies of the Emancipation Proclamation and 13th Amendment, see his famous pocket watch, bear witness to the flag that draped his coffin, all the while getting up close to the Oscar winning sets and nominated costumes from the Steven Spielberg directed 'Lincoln' movie."
