Duisburg, 2 July 2013 - Hamborner REIT AG is the proud winner of a special
award for the office property in Munich added to its books in January: the
'NuOffice' constructed in the past two years in Munich's Parkstadt
Schwabing district by Hubert Haupt Immobilien Holding received the LEED
platinum certificate with top marks yesterday.
Run by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), the LEED ('Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design') sustainability label is leading scheme of
its kind in the world. It defines standards for environmentally friendly,
energy-efficient and resource-efficient buildings. There are four quality
levels for the award for highly sustainable properties: 'certified',
'silver', 'gold' and 'platinum'.
With 94 points, as well as exceeding the minimum score of 80 required for
platinum status, the NuOffice also achieved the world's highest ever score
in the LEED system variant for investor projects (Core&Shell).
The members of Hamborner's Managing Board, Dr Rüdiger Mrotzek and Hans
Richard Schmitz, are delighted with the award for their new flagship
project: 'We are proud to be able to send a signal with this property, and
the certification results even exceeded our original expectations.
Sustainability is an increasingly prominent aspect in the office property
sector in particular, as our discerning tenants also insist on compliance
with the relevant standards. Therefore, for us as portfolio holders, it is
