NeoMedigen’s Announces Creation of Scientific Advisory Committee
Leading Research Scientist Joseph Baur joins Company
Hamilton, Bermuda July 9, 2013 – NeoMedigen Limited, a public company traded on the Berlin Exchange under Ticker Symbol 6NM, announced today that it has formed a Scientific Advisory Council to lead the Company’s plan to develop new anti-aging consumer products, and Over–the-Counter preparations that utilize NeoMedigen’s unique RezGen5 formulation.
The Council will oversee the implementation of clinical trials, the submission of filings to the FDA, and provide guidance on which therapeutic products to bring to market first.
Joseph Baur, Ph.D., a leading research scientist at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania, will head the Committee. Dr. Baur is an expert in the regulation of aging and metabolism function by sirtuins, a class of enzyme that regulates lifespan in lower organisms. Dr. Baur was the first scientist to conclusively demonstrate that resveratrol, a small molecule that activates the sirtuin SIRT1, improves insulin sensitivity, corrects metabolic defects, and extends lifespan in obese mice. His research with Dr. David Sinclair contributed to the development of Sirtris Pharmaceuticals, which was sold to Glaxo Smithkline for US$ 720 million in 2009.
