Management Board strengthened - Dietmar Brockhaus appointed Chief Financial
Officer (CFO)

- Orders booked as at June 30, 2013 - around EUR 60 million

- Orders for combined heat and power (CHP) plants from E.ON and STEAG:
energy providers focus on decentralized energy solutions

Heek, July 17, 2013 - The Supervisory Board of 2G Energy AG (ISIN
DE000A0HL8N9), one of the leading internationally operating German
manufacturers of combined heat and power (CHP) plants, has appointed
Dietmar Brockhaus as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Dietmar Brockhaus (44)
joined 2G Energy AG's management team on December 1, 2012 with
responsibility for the finance, personnel and legal areas. As a Management
Board member, he will remain responsible for these areas, as well as for
investor relations. In his most recent previous position, he was the fully
authorized representative of an internationally operating and listed
drilling services company that focused on geothermal power. A business
studies graduate and trained banker, Mr. Brockhaus has over 20 years of
professional experience in management positions in the finance and energy
sectors.

Chief Executive Officer Christian Grotholt is delighted to have Dietmar
Brockhaus on board as a Management Board member: 'Over the past eight
months, Dietmar Brockhaus has standardized the reporting system, launched
the ERP roll-out at subsidiaries abroad and raised contract management to
international standards. The alignments required within the group to ensure
lean organizational structures as well as adequate risk management have

therefore been undertaken.'

In terms of current sales activities, 2G increased its orders booked from
EUR 53 million at the end of April to around EUR 60 million at the end of
June 2013 and remains at the previous year's level. Current revenues from
services and after-sales are also contributing to business performance. The
orders booked for combined heat and power (CHP) plants break down into
around 54% biogas and 46% natural gas applications. The geographical
distribution currently stands at around 67% from Germany and 33% from
abroad. The first two quarters in 2G's business cycle are historically the
weakest while the greatest revenues by far are generated in the fourth
quarter of the year.

In Germany, 2G is increasingly receiving orders from the major energy
providers, such as E.ON and STEAG. They regard decentralized energy
solutions as key technologies in the change in energy policy in Europe.

At the beginning of July 2013, the energy company E.ON and the firm Metro
Cash&Carry commissioned a decentralized combined heat and power (CHP)
plant in Düsseldorf. As the general contractor, 2G supplied the CHP plant
with a 250 kW output on a 'plug and play' basis and installed it as a
container solution. The system deployed, the agenitor 306, a natural
gas-powered solution, is a 2G proprietary development with an overall
efficiency of over 85%.
The system provides heating but the power generated is also used by METRO
Cash&Carry at its commercial premises. According to METRO's own figures,
the system has reduced energy costs at the site and cut CO2 emissions by up
to 20%. Metro is seeking to decrease its dependence on energy price trends
and to minimize its own impact on the climate.
