Endurance Appoints Joan deLemps as Chief Risk Officer

PEMBROKE, Bermuda - July 23, 2013 - Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd.
(NYSE:ENH), a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty
insurance and reinsurance, today announced that Joan deLemps will assume the
role of Chief Risk Officer, continuing to report to Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer, John Charman. In her new role, Ms. deLemps will have oversight for
Corporate Underwriting, Corporate Actuarial, Risk Management and Ceded
Reinsurance. An accomplished underwriting executive, Ms. deLemps has more than
35 years' experience in both insurance and reinsurance underwriting management
roles. Most recently she was Endurance's Chief Underwriting Officer, a role held
since March 2010.
Mr. Charman, commented, "As we transform Endurance's global insurance and
reinsurance footprints and their specialty product offerings, it is critically
important that our enterprise risk management capabilities are at the highest
and most responsive levels. To that end I have no doubt that Joan, with her
broad market leading experience, management capability and insightful guidance

Ms. deLemps joined Endurance in May 2003 and served as Chief Casualty Officer
for Endurance's Worldwide Reinsurance Operation from February 2007 to March
2010. Prior to joining Endurance, Ms. deLemps held various senior underwriting
and management positions in the facultative, treaty and finite risk areas. She
began her career at Aetna Casualty & Surety prior to joining Swiss Reinsurance
and subsequently Gerling Global Financial Products Inc.
