("Richfield") announces that it recently acquired 2,376,500 Common Shares of Birch Lake Energy Inc. ("Birch Lake"). Prior to such acquisition, Richfield held 5,123,500 Common Shares of Birch Lake. Richfield now holds 7,500,000 Common Shares of Birch Lake, which represents an interest of 12.89% of Birch Lake's issued and outstanding Common Shares. The securities acquired by Richfield are held for investment purposes. In the future, Richfield may increase or decrease its ownership of securities of Birch Lake from time to time depending upon the business and future market conditions.
