Orthodontist in Washington, DC Has Recently Added the PROPEL Orthodontic System to His Treatment Repertoire in Order to Accelerate Care and Enhance Results

(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwired) -- 07/30/13 -- Dr. Wayne Hickory, an Invisalign® Super Elite Provider, is one of the first orthodontists to use the PROPEL system at his practices in Washington DC, Bethesda, and Ellicott City, Maryland. The PROPEL device works with all orthodontic systems, such as ® or braces, to reduce treatment time by up to 60%. Dr. Hickory met with Bryce Way, CEO of PROPEL Orthodontics, at the American Association of Orthodontists Meeting in Philadelphia to discuss use of the PROPEL system in his practices, as well as the use of the PROPEL system in Asia where Dr. Hickory distributes and consults on Invisalign®.

Orthodontic technology has historically focused on the mechanical systems that put gentle, yet precise forces on teeth to create desired tooth alignment. The PROPEL system focuses on the biological response. The is particularly interested in using the PROPEL device with Invisalign® to expand the types of treatment that can be accomplished with Invisalign®, and to treat an even broader range of patients. Dr. Hickory was one of America's first orthodontists to use Invisalign® 14 years ago and is regarded as one of America's most experienced Invisalign® orthodontists.

The PROPEL system is a five minute procedure that makes a small, virtually painless puncture in the bone where accelerated tooth movement is desired. The device and the procedure are related to research that was performed at NYU College of Dentistry.

"The future of orthodontics is merging new digital orthodontic technology with more control of the biological response. I believe every orthodontic case can be treated with Invisalign®, and combining Invisalign® with the PROPEL device where indicated will make both treatments more effective and efficient," says Dr. Hickory.

After receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, remained at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine to complete his postdoctoral program in orthodontics and Masters of Dental Science. At his Washington, DC area practices, Dr. Hickory offers a comprehensive range oral care spanning from to adult orthodontics.
