ROCK OUT! Featuring an All-Star Line-Up With Wayne Kramer, Billy Bragg, Jill Sobule, Jason Heath & The Greedy Souls and Surprise Musical Guests

(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/30/13 -- announced an all-star, guitar-slashing, roof-burning, rock and rolling live concert that will be performed at the Ford Theatres on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 8:30pm. All profits from the night will be donated to support , rightfully dubbed "the loudest charity on planet earth." Musician-founded and musician-operated, JGD-USA finds people who work in prisons who are willing to use music for rehabilitation and provides them with instruments for inmate programs. JGD-USA also works in support of national justice reform.

Legendary UK troubadour will headline the show with MC5 guitarist and co-founder Wayne Kramer as Musical Director. Featured are , , JGD-USA graduate and special surprise musical guests. "Wayne has been a huge supporter of Jail Guitar Doors in Britain, both from the stage and accompanying me into the prison system itself," says Billy, "and I'm honored to be able to show my support to the great work he is doing with JGD-USA by joining him at the Ford."

"This show will support the organization I co-founded with Billy on a 2009 trip to the infamous Sing Sing Prison. It's not only a fine excuse to get together again to play great music in a way we've never done before," notes Kramer, "But also to let people hear about the important work we continue to carry out in prisons all across America."

To date, JGD-USA has donated instruments to over 35 prisons and has distributed hundreds of electric and acoustic guitars, drum kits, amplifiers, keyboards, and various backline, but Kramer is quick to point out, "The guitars are not gifts. These instruments are a straightforward challenge issued to prisoners. The people who donated the money for these guitars are telling them that they believe in them, that they haven't given up on them, and that change for the better is within reach. Now step up!"

Jail Guitar Doors invites music lovers and activists to come together for a great night of music, stylish limited edition memorabilia, and meaningful social change.
