(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 07/31/13 -- Citymaps today entered the global map race, launching its social map platform focusing on personalization, discovery, and mapmaking. Users can explore all of the places around them at a glance, and create and share maps with friends. Citymaps for the iPhone is available for free download in the Apple App Store.
Designed with social mapmaking at its core, Citymaps was developed from the ground-up to provide a personalized map experience -- in time, no two users' maps will look alike. With Citymaps, users can:
Quickly create maps of their favorite places on the go
Collaborate with their friends on group maps
Explore a library of maps by friends, locals, and publishers
Share maps and locations via email, social, or SMS
Citymaps' proprietary, vector-based mobile map covers 15 million locations throughout every city and town in the United States, and will expand internationally in 2013. Every restaurant, hotel and store on Citymaps is represented by its logo, making it simple to search and pinpoint places. The map also features standard navigation capabilities, turn-by-turn directions, one-touch store finders, and a stream of real-time Instagram photos, menus, and user comments for every location.
