Field Law Community Fund Open for Voting
Regional law firm now accepting public input in selecting program finalists
(firmenpresse) - EDMONTON , ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/31/13 -- Field Law, a regional law firm with offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Yellowknife, has announced that online voting for the Field Law Community Fund Program is now open. The Program, which supports local initiatives and causes within the community, is now engaging the public to help determine which of the 83 applicants will receive funding to launch or grow their project.
The Field Law Community Fund Program will provide an additional $75,000 annually to local projects and/or organizations, engaging the communities that Field currently serves in a new and interactive way.
Through a combination of community online voting and deliberation by a local judging panel, finalists will be announced and awards between $1,000 and $30,000 will be allocated. The voting process will allow the public to weigh in on the projects closest to their hearts and communities, and let the panelists know which projects resonate most within the communities.
"Field Law strives to support the communities we live and work in, in a meaningful way," said Jim Casey, Managing Partner at Field. "We are eager to help our communities grow, by paying it forward and giving great community-based ideas the push they need to be put into action."
Community partnership is a top priority for Field Law. Many members of the Field Law team regularly volunteer and contribute to the community on an individual basis, and the Field Law Community Fund Program provides another opportunity to obtain support from the firm annually, while engaging in the collaborative selection process.

"Our goal is to see our community flourish both economically and socially by supporting the great projects and organizations that drive positive change."
Field Law's preferred causes (but not exclusive) are those that support education, healthcare, at-risk youth, homelessness, women's organizations, community and sports or arts and culture.
