Hellmann East Europe receives the Customs Representative License for Russia

ID: 28387

Moscow, March 3, 2011. The logistics firm Hellmann East Europe has been granted the Customs Representative License for Russia, previously known as the Customs Broker License. Beginning March 1, the company will be able to offer customs clearance services under its own private license.

(firmenpresse) - A number of conditions must be met in order to obtain a Russian Customs Representative License. In addition to proof of professionally trained staff and an excellent reputation, the license also requires firms to provide a bank guarantee of one million Euro. With this amount, the customs representative is held liable for compliance with import and export regulations.

In the past, Hellmann East Europe has always worked with external customs brokers, but is now able to offer clients a huge advantage: customs declarations are now conducted by Hellmann staff and submitted with their own corporate stamp to customs. Now the entire transport chain in land, air, and sea transport, from collection abroad to delivery in Russia, can be operated by a single source.

The newly established company, Hellmann Tamozhenny Broker (Hellmann Customs Broker), will take over the execution of operations in Russia. Customs representative services will be conducted at the following locations: Moscow will handle trucks, air freight, and excise tariffs, St. Petersburg will deal with port services and excise tariffs. Smolensk, on the Belarusian-Russian border, will also process trucks, and port customs will be handled in Vorstochny, the easternmost port in Russia, near Vladivostok. Additional sites are planned in Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, and Bryansk.

The range of customs services includes:
-Official customs representation for the client
-Preliminary analysis of corresponding freight documents
-Goods classification
-Preparation and submission of declarations
-Calculation and optimization of customs duties
-Procurement of other necessary permits

Rudolf Renner and Dieter Mauritz, the executive team of Hellmann East Europe Moscow, are very proud of this license: “It is not easy to obtain a Customs Representative License in Moscow. We are delighted that we were able to achieve this after only nine months. Now we have the ability to offer our customers even better service in Russia.”
