Alzheimer's Society Gets a Funding Boost From Coventry Building Society

(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 08/09/13 -- staff at the have raised GBP 4480.98 for local Dementia Cafe. The cafe, ran by the Alzheimer's Society, will use some of the money to provide information about coping with the illness for cafe users and their families.

The Alzheimer's Society has been a community partner of the Coventry Building Society for the past 11 months, with branch staff helping out at events and also carrying out in branch fundraisers. Most recently, they supported dementia awareness week by volunteering at the recent Vintage Tea Party held by the Alzheimer's Society.

Coventry Building Society's Charlotte McKay says; "The Memory Cafe does a fantastic job of supporting people living with Alzheimer's. We are absolutely delighted to support this project and give GBP 4480.98 to the Alzheimer's Society".

Charmaine Bird, who runs the Dementia Cafe says; "We are extremely pleased to receive this funding, as some of this money can be used to purchase the books that will be of great help to those that use the Dementia Cafe"

The Dementia Cafe runs on the third Thursday of every month between 12pm-2pm, St. Andrews Church Hall, Shottery. It is a place for those affected by dementia to meet with those in a similar situation for interaction, education and support. For further information about this contact Charmaine on 02476652602.
