Protegrity Announces Settlement of Patent Litigation Against Ingrian / SafeNet

The terms are not being disclosed at this time.

"This settlement is the culmination of a hard fought litigation with Ingrian and SafeNet over the last five years," said Suni Munshani, CEO for Protegrity. "This long, successful legal battle is evidence that Protegrity will remain steadfast in the protection and enforcement of our intellectual property."

The original lawsuit filed in 2008 against Ingrain (now SafeNet) included: U.S. Patent 6,321,201, entitled "Data Security System for a Database Having Multiple Encryption Levels Applicable on a Data Element Value Level," U.S. Patent 7,325,129, entitled "Method for Altering Encryption Status in a Relational Database in a Continuous Process," and U.S. Patent 6,963,980, entitled "Combined Hardware and Software Based Encryption of Databases." An additional lawsuit was filed against SafeNet for U.S. Patent 8,402,281, entitled "Data Security System for a Database."
