Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Canada's Top Young Entrepreneurs Pitch to Top Investors at 'The NEXT 36' Venture Day
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/12/13 -- The Next 36 - Canada's unique immersion program for young entrepreneurs is pleased to present its third annual Venture Day on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Last fall, 36 of Canada's brightest young minds were chosen for the program from over 1000 applications from across the country. They have received a year of mentorship from some of Canada's most successful business leaders, been taught by world-renowned faculty and received up to $95,000 in start-up funding. Venture Day will feature 18 new technology companies developed by these students. They will present to a room filled with investors, mentors and members of the business community with hundreds more watching live online.
Eight investment-ready ventures will present to angel investors and venture capitalists in the afternoon.
Supported by more than 250 Canadian business leaders - including W. Galen Weston, Paul Desmarais Sr. and Jim Pattison - The Next 36 aims to transform the country's most promising undergraduates into high-impact entrepreneurs and nation builders.
The day will also feature a keynote address by Brian Scudamore, Co-founder and CEO of 1-800 GOT JUNK.
